8/5/2023 0 Comments Sims 4 kits worth it![]() ![]() SimGuruGrham on the future of The Sims 4 : "There's way more that we can still do with this title" Almost seven years on from its initial release, the community is working overtime to keep The Sims 4 relevant and accessible, and prominent Simmers are starting to worry about the sustainability of this model. While that pales in comparison to how much you'd need to spend to own all of The Sims 3 Store content (a Steam user estimates it's around $75,000), it's still a harsh reminder of just how much The Sims' content costs and the clear barrier it presents for players looking to get more from the game. I did the math: in order to buy and utilize all of The Sims 4 content, including Expansion Packs, Stuff Packs, Game Packs, and Kits, you'd have to spend $800. The Sims subreddit was littered with jokes about how EA continues to add more paid DLC in lieu of updating the base game with frequently requested items, and directives to download free custom content (or "CC") packs created by community members instead. Prominent Simmers like lilsimsie and James Turner worried about the larger ramifications, pointing out how expensive it is to keep up with new content releases and questioning whether The Sims 4 would return to a Sims 3-style content release – which could bankrupt the average player. for the love of god, let us filter kits. Not long after they were announced in early March, The Sims 4 Kits had the community raging about the cost of content. Like Show us at least an expansion and like two game and or stuff packs just so we can get a break from kits. Also I hope they see the feed back and cool it with the kits for a while. and I hope it doesnt take them a better part of like.8 years to do that like they did with stuff packs. The Sims team just needs to fine tune them. The Garden kit Like $4.Īll in All Kits arn't the devil. The Industrial Loft, I could see that as $5 because there's enough objects in that kit to decorate a few rooms really. I say a kit, depending on the size and what is in it should be $3-$5. With kits I think they can be a little more experimental. Lastly, and I know many people have said this before, Prices. To me this feels like they are trying to fix something though a paywall. If a pack of any kind has lets say 20 clothing options for female sims, then their should be at least 15 for male, and vise versa. ![]() However this is something that should of been in the game from the start. Now, with that being said with the new Kit (the men's fashion one) I'm grateful they are finally giving us more Masc sims clothing. Hell they could of made My First Pet Stuff, and Luxury Party Stuff Kits. Like Take the build kits, those are perfect examples of what kit should be. Kits should be bite size things that can add a little game play or something from build or buy. (but god I hope they aren't really the new stuff packs) But then after thinking about it, I realized Kits are the new stuff packs in terms of The Sims team really has no idea what to do with them yet. and at first I was 100% on the hate Kits train. So I got to thinking, This is one way or another about kits. Ing from someone who plays it nearly every day. and I hope it doesn't take them a better part of like.8 years to do that like they did with stuff packs. ![]()
